Soon after debuting the Vivo V7+ in India, the Chinese manufacturer has unveiled the X20 and X20 Plus smartphones. The key features of these smartphones include full screen design and dual rear cameras. Since these phones have Snapdragon 660 chipset onboard, they are the most powerful smartphones from Vivo.
Vivo X20 Specifications and Features
The Vivo X20 has a 6.01-inch AMOLED screen and offers an aspect ratio of 18:9 to deliver a FHD+ resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels. It measures 155.85 x 75.15 x 7.2mm and its weight is 159 grams. Since the smartphone sports very slim bezels, it offers a high screen-to-body ratio.
As far as the design of the smartphone is concerned, it features a full metallic chassis finished with zirconium sand spray process. The rear side of the phone has u-shaped antenna bands at its top and bottom edges. The three color variants of the Vivo X20 are gold, rose gold and matte black.
Under the hood of the Vivo X20 is the Snapdragon 660 chipset that is supported by 4 GB RAM. The inbuilt storage of the smartphone is 64 GB and it also features a microSD card slot. The Vivo X20A is another variant of X20 that is packed with 128 GB of storage. The handset is powered by a 3,245mAh battery that is equipped with fast charging capabilities.
For shooting selfies, the Vivo X20 offers its users with a f/20 aperture 12-megapixel camera that is coupled with a LED flash. The rear side of the smartphone is fitted with a dual camera system that includes a f/1.8 aperture 12-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel sensor. The dual lenses are capable of shooting professional quality bokeh shots.
The Vivo X20 comes loaded with FunTouch OS 3.2 flavored Android 7.1 Nougat OS. The smartphone features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and it also includes a face scanning feature called Face Wake for unlocking. Other features of the handset include AK4376A Hi-Fi audio chip, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.0, microUSB 2.0, 4G VoLTE and Wi-Fi 802.11ac.
Vivo X20 Plus Specifications and Features
The larger X20 Plus includes a 6.43-inch AMOLED that supports the same aspect ratio and resolution like its smaller sibling. As far as dimensions are concerned, the smartphone measures 165.32 x 80.09 x 7.45 and weighs 181.5 grams. The X20 Plus has the same metallic design as the X20 and it also comes in gold, rose gold and matte black color variants.
The X20 Plus is also driven by Snapdragon 660 chipset and it has same RAM and storage like the smaller X20. However, it will come with a larger battery of 3,905 mAh capacity that supports fast charging.
The Vivo X20 Plus has the same 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual rear cameras. However, it is equipped with Optical Image Stabilization, a feature that is unavailable on X20. The Chinese manufacturer has included an ES9318 DAC + amp Hi-Fi audio chip on the phone. It features the same selfie camera and connectivity features that are available on the X20 smartphone.
Vivo X20 and X20 Plus Pricing
The Vivo X20 and X20 Plus are respectively priced at 2,998 Yuan (~$455) and 3,498 Yuan (~$530). Both the X20 phones will be available for pre-booking from Sept. 25 in China. The shipments will start from Sept. 30. As of this writing, there is no information on the arrival of these phones outside of the home country.
